One of our other main services is the transportation of containers to the client’s designated location. To accomplish this task in the most suitable and most effective manner, JCAT has enough trucks and trailers, all operations at the same time. With this highly specialized system of movement, the client’s container need not be in the yard for longer than is necessary. Our system and the trucks also enable us facilitate free transportation of containers from the Port to the Empty yards for processing.
For easier transportation and/or movement of containers, JACT has invested in a brand new 12 M/T Forklift, capable of lifting up to 20 empty containers and the Hydra 14 M/T suitable for handling 20 to 40 empty containers. These two pieces of equipment are paired on any operating day to ensure we handle as many containers as possible without affecting the quality of work we do. They also facilitate the quick and efficient offloading of containers that arrive at our yard.
Once the containers arrive at one of JCAT’s yards, inspection to ensure they conform to the international standards is done. Where necessary, we offer services such as repair and refurbishing of the containers. High pressure stream washing of the containers to get them ready for future use is also offered and conducted. We take care to ensure we only use the best materials for repairs and that only skilled workmen, supervised by experienced engineers are allowed to perform any required repairs. The client is notified of any needed repairs before the process can begin.
Surveys of the duly repaired and maintained containers is conducted by IICL qualified inspectors. Our firmly established on-site infrastructure makes it easy for us to provide quality repair, cleaning and maintenance services to our customers. We have an electricity capacity of 150KW as well as an independent bore hole with sweet water to meet the daily water needs for cleaning and repair of containers.
JACT receives containers from shipping lines or leasing companies after the contents have been removed at the factories. As soon as they arrive, we use on of our forklifts to lift them off the trailers and they are immediately surveyed to check if they conform with international standards. If repair is required, we determine the amount of work needed and provide the client with an estimate. For cleaning purposes, we use automated cleaning systems to ensure the safety of our crew. Industrial effluents are cleaned in the most environmentally conscious ways.
JACT has a system that ensures the utmost transparency. From the moment, the container arrives, its progress through the repair or cleaning process is tracked and information relayed to the client in a timely fashion. Yards at JACT are numbered A1, A2 and so forth to ensure easy record keeping and facilitate this transparency. We also have our own online software that tracks and maintains inventory to ensure we never lose a client’s container.
The final stage of this process is storage and our yards are designed to ensure the quality of this service as well. Once the repair and cleaning process are complete, the containers are re-checked one final time and then stored in our yards. The storage facilities are of the highest of standards to ensure the containers do not suffer any damage or contamination while in storage. The final step is in collection and our well-laid out process makes even this as seamless as possible. JACT understands that clients need the containers to transport other products and a pre-determined schedule is to be followed. We never keep a container for longer than necessary. We advise the client as to the time it will take to repair and/or clean the container and maintain this schedule.
